I am a Jesus pusher!!! I am focusing on Him. I want to concentrate on Him for so long He becomes my tradition. I want the routine of my life to be Him. The habit of my life will be the practicing of His presence. My inner spirit will be trained to immediately embrace Him in every troubled moment. I renounce the pattern of upset and anger. I must know Him in relaxation and surrender. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
We have many examples of established patterns in our past. The Pharisees and Sadducees had a consistent, automatic response. Whenever they were confronted with truth, they immediately reverted to their accepted tradition. They cried, “We have Abraham as our father,” (Matthew 3:9). John the Baptist called them to repentance. He warned them not to allow this rut of tradition to be their defense. They were confronted with change. Their defense was their tradition. It was their consistent, spontaneous response. How often have I done this? Jesus calls me to embrace His attitude; I cry, “I am an elder in the church.” He calls me to the appointment of His cross; I explain, “I must not miss the committee meeting; I am the chairman.” He desires to pour His life through me to embrace a leper (or someone like him); I demand protection for my life. I must not be contaminated with the infection of my world for I am holy.
I am a Jesus pusher!!! I will surrender all of my defenses, patterns, responses, methods, plans, systems, arrangements, schemes, compositions, orderings, and groupings. He shall be the single response of my life. I will turn to Him alone. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
