I am a Jesus pusher!!! The early believers were filled with the Spirit of Jesus. They lived in this dwelling place, state of existence. Jesus was their new location. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship (Acts 2:42). These were not two activities in which they participated. They were expressions of the “state of being.” The Greek word (koinonia) translated fellowship is very significant in the early church. He is not discussing the activity of “hanging out,” “potluck suppers,” or “an evening in the new gym.” Involved in this Greek word is fellowship with a purpose. The idea of “partner” quickly comes to the forefront. For instance, Luke gives us insight into the linkage between Peter, James, and John. He refers to James and John as partners (koinonos) with Simon (Luke 5:10). These men were partners in fishing. They had several boats, nets, and equipment. They shared the work and the profits. They were business partners.
The Bible only considers two kinds of partnerships! There are only two possibilities for your life. You are either a partner with Satan, fulfilling his dreams, engaged in his enterprise or you will be in partnership with Christ. There is no third category. The concept of neutrality does not exist. There is not even a half and half. Jesus pulls us into His very nature. We are not workers on the assembly line. We are sons in the main office. We are not errand boys accomplishing assigned tasks. We are His partners! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
