I am a Jesus pusher!!! So continuing daily with one accord in the temple describes the daily activities of the early believers (Acts 2:46). There was a great unity among them. Luke makes this same emphasis before the Pentecost event. While they waited together in Jerusalem for the coming Promise, they all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers (Acts 1:14). The resurrected Lord created this. He was with them for forty days of infallible proofs (Acts 1:3). He captured them; He spent this time speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God (Acts 1:3). Their imaginations were filled with the wonder of what it would be like to be filled with the same life that Jesus possessed. Jesus must have restated all the parables of the Kingdom. They saw the truth through the eyes of the resurrection. This was so huge everything else became secondary. This resurrected Jesus mastered them. They were with one accord (together with heavy breathing) as they waited for the fullness of the Spirit.
Now Pentecost explodes into their lives! They are filled with the Spirit of Jesus. If they were in unity before, it is intensified and increased now. They are absolutely riveted to Him. They can speak of nothing else. He is the center point of their thinking. They have time for nothing else. All other issues become non-essential in comparison. Their minor differences do not matter. They have one drive and one passion. They are “together with heavy breathing” in Jesus. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
