I am a Jesus pusher!!! Ichthyology is the branch of zoology focused on the study of fish. Jesus called His disciples. “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men,” (Matthew 4:19). The focus of the call is “I will make you fishers of men.” The focus is not upon success; it is not upon materialism. He does not propose the establishment of educational facilities presenting a philosophy of successful living. He is not suggesting a successful career in the ministry. The establishment of a prestigious church denomination is not the goal. They are to be fishermen of men.
If you accept this statement, the ultimate goal of the Jesus’ formation in your life is to make you an evangelist. The ultimate purpose of His death is not to get you to heaven, but to enable you to participate in saving souls. His resurrection is not so you can live comfortably in mansions in the sky; it is that you might rescue people. He did not come to bring peace but to wage war for the purpose of snatching the prisoners of war from the hands of the enemy (Matthew 10:34). From His own lips He states the purpose of His coming. “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). The angel announced to Joseph the purpose of the birth of Christ, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Even at His death, He rescues fallen man (Luke 23:43). Even after His resurrection, He has a call for His disciples. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:19). What a privilege to unite with Him! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
