I am a Jesus pusher!!! Jesus said, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men,” (Luke 5:10). The Greek word (zogreo) translated catch men is a participle in the nominative case. This is a verb giving content to the subject. It acts as an adjective. The subject becomes a “catcher of men!” In other words, catching men is a state of being in which you will be in the future. This is a repeat of the statement Jesus gave to His disciples just before His ascension. “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). “You shall be” (Acts 1:8) is a translation of the same root word as ‘you will” (Luke 5:10). The disciples were going to “be witnesses” not “do witnessing.” This state was to be fully realized through the fullness of the Holy Spirit’s sourcing.
It must be stated again and again that catching men is not a result of talent, personality type, or developed skills. We are not discussing one aspect of being a Christian. This is Christianity. This is not an activity for that group of people who are most suited for such involvement. This is the heart and soul running through everyone who is possessed with the Spirit of Jesus. It is not a specialty; it is the normal! It is a basic ingredient. It is the sourcing of Jesus in our lives. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
