I am a Jesus pusher!!! The angel descended; the earthquake shook the ground; the stone of the Jesus’ tomb was rolled away (Matthew 28). The guards fainted for fear; the two ladies trembled in the presence of the angel. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary ran to tell the news of the resurrection. After reviving, the guards ran into Jerusalem to report the news of this event. Both the believers and the non-believers were filled with passion. The ladies ran to the disciples to tell the story of Jesus’ resurrection. The guards ran to the leaders of Israel and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened (Matthew 28:11).
Both groups were compelled to communicate. What the guards shared brought death. The leaders of Israel paid a bribe for the lie to be told. What the ladies shared brought life; the disciples responded by keeping the appointment in Galilee Jesus had made with them. The Great Commission was given to them. In seventy years they won their entire world to God. Life came to their world. Catching men is inevitable. We are evangelizing our world. We all have an influence upon those around us. Someone is following us; they will become like us. We are either “catching to life” or “catching to death.” It is inevitable. I want my life to bear the influence of Jesus’ presence.
