I am a Jesus pusher!!! There was a man by the name of Abram. He was living in the Ur of Chaldean; this is where his father settled. He conducted his business from a small shop he built. He sold silver statues of foreign gods. One day Jehovah tapped him on the shoulder and told him to go on a journey. He would not tell him where; but at the end of each day when they met at a sacrifice altar, He would give him new direction. This was the plan of God who would enter into the flesh at Christmas time.
In Abram’s life, this was not a theological discussion. It was not about a new god who would join the rest of the silver statues he supplied to the people. This was the plan of Jesus. Jesus interrupted Abram’s life, disturbed his materialism, upset his home, and determined his future. It is the evidence of Jesus intersecting the life of a man.
Be assured He will do this in your life as well. Santa Claus comes for a brief moment and we can continue as we were. He joins us in our traditions and establishes patterns of life. But not Jesus! When Jesus is born, stars begin to speak. Wise men ride on camels for two years to discover the truth of His person. Kings are disturbed and angered. Baby boys are killed. Mothers and fathers will never be the same. A young family flees into exile in Egypt. Reputations are at risk. No one will ever be the same again. How can it be any different in our lives? I am a Jesus pusher!!!
