I am a Jesus pusher!!! Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men,” (Matthew 4:19). The “central message” of the Word of God focuses directly on the “central mission” of the people of God. Wait! Isn’t the focus of the Scriptures on the “mission of God?” Indeed! However, there is no way to distinguish between the “mission of God” and the nature of God; this nature of God produces through the people of God the actions of God. Therefore, the true people of God express the passion and heart’s desire of God. It is clearly expressed as “evangelism.”
If the church misunderstands, denies, or ignores this passionate mission, it ceases to be the church. This mission is clearly dispelled throughout the Old Testament and into the New Testament. God has only one plan in which every event of history finds its place. He focuses His energy to redeem fallen mankind.
Every recording in the Old and New Testaments contribute to redeeming the world. It begins with God calling, “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9). It continues throughout the entire Bible to and the Spirit and the bride say “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17). Jesus is this love action; He is God acting His heart! Embracing Jesus is to be encompassed with redemption and to redeem!
