I am a Jesus pusher!!! Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). This fulfillment is clearly seen in the Book of Acts. Within seventy years the early disciples won their world to Jesus. They did not do it through memorized phrases or communication skills. It was not done by educational achievements (Acts 4:13). It was accomplished by an indwelt Life becoming their living. They were acted upon and responded to that action. It was about “being, not about “doing!”
Henry Stanley, a reporter, was anxious to achieve in the journalistic realm. He was given the opportunity to go to Africa for an exclusive interaction with David Livingston, the great missionary. He would be allowed to live with him and give an eyewitness account of his missionary work. When he returned to the United States his friends had a welcoming party for him. Each one was anxious to hear the details concerning life with David Livingston. After all of those weeks of living with this great missionary, Henry Stanley stated one thing, “If I had been with him any longer, I would have been compelled to be a Christian, and he never spoke to me about it at all.” David Livingston was a life consumed with the essence of Jesus. The creative life of the vine is present in the branch; it has the bark of the vine and bears the fruit of the vine. Everything about the branch becomes an expression of the vine. There is not anything about the branch that has not come from the vine. No wonder Jesus cries, “For without Me you can do nothing,” (John 15:5). I am a Jesus Pusher!!!
