I am a Jesus pusher!!! The call of Jesus to the disciples required an immediate response (Matthew 4:20). The urgency is not found in the character of God; it is found in the nature of man’s existence. In other words, Jesus does not necessitate the immediate response. He does not stand looking at His watch. He has not put a time limit on the call. It is not about Him; it is about you. This reality must be thoroughly understood. This may be contrary to your previous teaching or thoughts. I only urge you to carefully consider the truth.
Many have feared committing the “unpardonable sin.” We missed the truth of the unpardonable sin because we misunderstand the concept. We view this sin as determined by God not by us. In other words, God set a time limit on our response. If the limit is not on time, it is certainly on the number of times we sin or reject. We think God is keeping a record. If we fail to respond to His call beyond His time limit, He simply withdraws the call. This leaves us without hope. The entire responsibility of my state is placed on God. I may realize what I have done and want to be forgiven; but God will not forgive me. Is He mad? Did I push Him beyond His limits? Has He lost patience with me and withdrawn His mercy and grace? Is there a different time schedule for every individual? Does God have more patience with some than with others? I want to convince you; this is not the case! The call of God needs an urgent response. The urgency is not because of God’s requirements, but because of my personal time limitations. This is the moment to respond. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
