I am a Jesus pusher!!! I marvel at the immediate response of the disciples to the call of Jesus. They established the pattern in the Scriptures for response. What if I hesitate in my response to Jesus? Have I committed the “unpardonable sin?” There is an unpardonable sin! The call of God does demand immediate response! However, the reason for the urgency of the response is not because of God. It is because of us! The condition and circumstances of our lives require immediate response. God is always willing to forgive. He has already forgiven everyone. The teaching of the Scriptures is that forgiveness is provided, and it is in place for every individual. Jesus paid for the sins of the entire world on the cross. There is no more payment necessary. In reality, God has already forgiven every man.
Therefore, the lack of forgiveness in our lives is not because God won’t forgive. It is the condition of our personal hearts. This is why the call of God to repent must have an immediate response. Every moment I lack surrender to Him is a moment creating more obstacles to response. I must respond immediately! It is in my best interest! Jesus calls me to Himself. I will respond immediately. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
