I am a Jesus pusher!!! Matthew writes, Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people (Matthew 4:24). The ministry of Jesus is INTERNATIONAL. In this passage, Syria refers to the region north of Galilee. The Greek word (akoee) translated fame means “to hear something.” It is used for the idea of a rumor. The Gentiles all over Syria and to the north heard of what was going on in Galilee. The result was inevitable. Great multitudes of patients from all over Galilee and Syria came to Him
Christianity would never be contained within the boundaries of the Jews. It is exciting to read the Book of Acts. It is here we discover the explosion of Christianity to the whole world. Christianity could not be a sect of Judaism. Jesus came for the people of the world. If we have the mind of Christ, we cannot maintain racial barriers. The New Testament states, For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace (Ephesians 2:14-15). Jesus even embraced me! If all people are not included, I am not included. I am a thankful Jesus pusher!!!
