I am a Jesus pusher!!! Jesus presents a powerful and life changing conclusion. In the Beatitudes, He says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (“O the blessedness of the poor in spirit!”) (Matthew 5:3). Jesus applauds us! He shouts, “You have made it! You have arrived! Congratulations!” The Beatitudes are not pious hopes of what shall be; they are not prophecies of some future blessing. This is congratulations for what is now. The state of blessed is not postponed to some future world in heaven. This state of blessed exists here and now! It is not something Christians will enter; it is something we have entered!
You and I must take a moment to praise and adore Jesus! What a wonder to be a Christian! Oh, the bliss of being a Christian. There is great joy in Jesus’ embrace. The depth of sheer delight is found in the intimacy of His presence. All we ever needed or longed for is now experienced in “knowing” Him. Indeed, the Trinity God placed all He wanted for us in Jesus. We are now in Him. The Kingdom of Heaven, the King, has arrived. We are now His! Defeat, dismay, or depression has no room here. We are blessed! No wonder I am a Jesus pusher!!!
