Jesus Pusher 329

I am a Jesus pusher!!! Jesus called us “Blessed (makarios)!” An investigation of the use of “makarios” in the classical Greek reveals further insight.  It was used as “makar.”  It is an adjective describing the gods as opposed to mortals; it is a Divine quality.  One ancient scholar spoke of the gods as not born, but rather incorruptible, unchangeable, holy, and blessed (makarios).  In Greek mythology the Greeks assumed that the gods were blessed in themselves.  They were not affected by the outside world. The state of blessed originally meant a state that is neither produced nor affected by outside circumstances, but is intrinsic within the individual.  This is the underlying principle and meaning in the use of the word in the Septuagint and in the New Testament.  Blessed is a state not dependent on the chances and changes of life. Blessed is untouchable.

We must hasten back to the fundamental idea of the Sermon on the Mount.  It is about Jesus.  If our state of blessed cannot be altered by the world because the world does not source it, what is its source?  Congratulations!  You and I dwell in the new place, Jesus!  He is our source.  We do not accomplish the instructions of the Sermon on the Mount in order to get into the Kingdom; we are able to live the Sermon on the Mount because we are in the Kingdom. Circumstances vary, materialism decays and rusts, health declines, and the weather is forever changing.  But Jesus is a safe and unchangeable place of blessed. There is nothing more that you need.  You have found your place.  Jesus is your all in all.  I am a Jesus pusher!!!
