I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). As He sources us, we begin to recognize others are as poor as we are. If they could experience the resource we have! The kingdom of heaven becomes a community of poverty stricken individuals who totally depend on Jesus. This community is easily recognized because each person in the community looks like Jesus. This is not a likeness in physical activities or ceremonies, but in attitude and heart. Everyone is being sourced by the nature of God.
This community is easily recognized because it lacks of competition. No one is jealous of the other because everyone is poverty stricken. Since Jesus is our only source, competition means that Jesus is competing against Himself. How ridiculous! We become the “body of Christ.” He is our head. If there is division among us it comes from self-sourcing. We have ceased to be poor.
This community is easily recognized because there are no stars. No one “lords” it over another. How can we? Jesus sources us all. In our poverty we have no claim to any position or authority. We are called by His sourcing to serve. “As the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,” so we are an expression of this same nature (Matthew 20:28). We are poor and helpless, being empowered by our King. Our only desire is Jesus! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
