I am a Jesus Pusher!!! Meekness is a focus on God, not described by a God’s actions but by His inner Spirit. When man recognizes his helplessness he responds with mourning. The mourning is a response to the presence of the Spirit of Jesus filling the person. Meekness is the atmosphere generated by God as He sources the helpless man, which affects all other relationships, producing peace in the relationships. This peace in the inner soul is so great that this God sourced person is not moved by insults. If we live in a state of unrest over insults, we are at the mercy of those who choose to disturb us, and we are constantly ruffled and upset, always distracted from that which God plans to accomplish through us.
You can tell how close someone is to Jesus if you look at when the person gets angry and what that anger is about. The person who is meek is not someone who never gets angry. We see this in Jesus as He cleanses the temple (Matthew 21:12). Do not think that a person who never gets angry is Spirit-sourced. Meekness means we get angry at the right time, at the right things, and never at the wrong time about the wrong things. The self-sourced person finds this impossible. Jesus is our only chance!
