I am a Jesus pusher!!! It is beyond my wildest dreams: He wants me! The Scriptures literally echo with this truth. It is not emphasized once or twice but continually. He wants me! Mark relates it in relationship to Jesus’ disciples. And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted (Mark 3:13). The subject of the sentence is He which refers to Jesus. There are three verbs in the sentence: went, called, and wanted. The first verb, went, is in the active voice. This means Jesus is responsible for the action of the verb. It is in the indicative mood; it is a simple statement of fact. The second verb is called. It is in the middle voice. This means the verb is focused on the personal desires and preferences of the subject. Jesus calls according to what He wants. This is strongly strengthened by the third verb, wanted. It is in the active voice which means the subject is responsible for this action. It is in the imperfect tense which indicates it occurred in the past and is continuing into the present. This is not just a fleeting moment, but is the enduring passion of His heart. While this was written about His disciples years ago, its truth relates to me now. I am His personal, desired, wanted, craved, loved, passionate choice. He has called me!
I am not one out of many. I am not the one who is left after everyone else has been chosen. He is not stuck with me. I am not the best choice He has because I am all that is available. I am His first choice. The driving motive of His heart is to have me. He has proven this by literally moving every obstacle to receive me. There is no distance He will not travel to come and get me. He has gone from heaven to earth to embrace me. There is nothing He will not suffer in order to possess me. He has gladly and willingly opened Himself to the crucifixion. He has experienced death and hell in all of it fury in order to have me. He is the lover of my soul; He is the entire fan club of my being. He is my great Supporter; He is my amazing Promoter. How can I not be His? I am a Jesus pusher!!!
