I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). In the embrace of His Person, we enter into the fullness of the Kingdom. The Kingdom of Heaven is the union of the fullness of God and the fullness of man. The Spirit of God sources man in his helplessness. Man receives and responds to all God is within him. This cannot be earned; it is by inheritance. When an individual inherits, he has not worked for it. It is the product or conquest of someone else. When an individual inherits, he enters into the labor of another. If you earn or conquer, you do it in your own strength. But how can we earn or conquer? We are helpless! If our inheritance is a product of Jesus’ labor, we must be in relationship with Him. All that the Father did in and through Jesus produced our inheritance. We have yet to discover the wonder of its fullness!
Inherit fits the total concept of the Beatitudes. A person is blessed when he embraces his helplessness. In responding to Jesus, he has God indwelling and sourcing him. God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, all things. Why should anyone who has the Creator in him actively seek that which already belongs to his Father? The blessed person is a child of God and an heir to His Kingdom. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, (Romans 8:16-17). We are blessed.
