Jesus Pusher 382

I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). There is a ROUTINE to be recognized by all that involuntarily hunger and thirst. These are inborn characteristics of our physical existence. Hunger and thirst are sourced by the essence of our physical structure. We do not set an alarm to tell us when to be hungry. We do not plan periods of time when we will be thirsty. Both hungering and thirsting are repeated occurrences woven into being alive. The only person who does not get hungry or thirsty is the individual who is either sick or dead.

This parallels our condition of poor in spirit. We are not helpless, hungry, or thirsty due to sin. We are created by God to live in such a state. He created within the very fibers of our existence a craving for His person. We were built for Him! Sin definitely affects this hunger and thirst. The sickness of demonic control attempts to satisfy our soul with substitutes. But the prevenient grace of God will not let us go. When a person is alive in Jesus, he recognizes his hunger and thirst for Jesus. He does not have to try to become hungry or thirsty for Jesus; his nature produces it. His hunger and thirst are not by effort; hunger and thirst are from the state of his being in Christ. We are hungry for Jesus. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
