I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled,” (Matthew 5:6). A Kingdom person hungers for the food of “righteousness.” But it is not righteousness self-sourced as found in the scribes and Pharisees (Matthew 5:20). Kingdom righteousness as a different quality!
How can the quality of righteousness actually change? It will require a nature change! The self-sourcing nature of man must be replaced with the sourcing of the nature of Jesus. This is radical! Upon this change, man is called “a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Flowing forth from this new creation will be the righteousness of Christ! It will exceed all the forced, disciplined performances of the Old Covenant; this righteousness leaps forth from the very nature of God. We will have the mind of Christ, operate within the attitude of Jesus, and see with the eyes of God. He will be our “source!” It is “super abounding” righteousness.
Self-sourced righteousness is strained and forced. It must be constantly monitored and measured. It is found only in those who are disciplined and someone prideful. Jesus sourced righteousness is natural and spontaneous. It erupts throughout the life. It appears without thought or effort. It is the expression of the very nature of intimacy with Jesus. No wonder I am a Jesus pusher!!!
