I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7). Jesus powerfully illustrates this truth in His life. Peter asked, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?” (Matthew 18:21). Jesus’ answer was “always forgive!” We are to live in a state of forgiveness or mercy
Then Jesus tells the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:23-35). A servant embezzled ten thousand talents (approximately $2,370,000) from his master. The king was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave the entire amount, making the servant debt free. The servant went forth rejoicing in the mercy he had been given. However, upon leaving the presence of the king, he met up with a fellow servant who owed him one hundred denarii (approximately $16.69). The forgiven servant refused to grant forgiveness and had his debtor thrown into prison, demanding full payment. Hearing this, the master was angry and revoked the mercy. He delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due. The servant was living in a state of mercy. He decided not to continue to live in this state; he would not forgive. This violated mercy; it nullified all the mercy he embraced from the master. The message is clear. Congratulations! We are merciful ones because we live in a state of mercy. Jesus is this state. We have a passion for Him and find that Jesus Himself fills us. We receive Him in His mercy and extend mercy to our world. Thus, we are Jesus pushers!!!
