I am a Jesus pusher!!! Who is it that I am pushing? He is the Son of God and the Son of Man. The content of the title, Son of God, is a focus on the Divinity of Jesus. The content of the title, Son of Man, is a focus on His humanity. No wonder, I am a Jesus pusher! God has become man, one of us. This title is used eighty-two times in the Gospel accounts. All of these occurrences, except for three, are spoken by Jesus. It is the preferred title Jesus gave to Himself. This title essentially means “The Man.” Who can fully comprehend the reality of this truth? God has become Man. He set aside all that He had as God and limited Himself to the total resource available to man. It is too much to absorb. What a mystery!
If Jesus set aside all the advantages He had as God and became a total man, how did He live such an unordinary life? It is the proclamation of the resource you and I have available to us. Man filled with God! Jesus was Spirit-sourced. He did not do what He did because He was God (the Son of God); He lived as He lived because He was a Man filled with God (the Son of Man). No wonder, I am a Jesus pusher! This reveals an entire new level of potential and possibilities for you and me. I too can be sourced by God. As the Father indwelt and sourced Jesus, so Jesus wants to indwell and source me. The life He lived is realistic for me to live because what caused Him to live that life is now available to me. Who would not run to embrace such an opportunity?
There is no defeat here. Sin is conquered! But it is not just a defensive relationship with Him; it is offensive. We can change our world. When I say “we” I am speaking of Him and me. He is our only possibility! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
