I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Blessed are the pure in heart” (Matthew 5:8). While purity may be in the heart, the opposite is true as well. “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God” (Hebrews 3:12). Unbelief takes place in the heart of man. Thus the stage of the battle for the soul of men is in his heart. The heart can be overrun with lusts. “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves” (Romans 1:24). This took place “because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened “ (Romans 1:21).
Jesus does not meet us on a superficial, external level of living. He is not interested in being an additional aspect of my physical life such as another hand. He is not going to be a garment I wear or an exterior protection for some difficulty of life. He meets me in the location of my heart. Here in the center of my being, the seat of my affections, the source of all activities, and the determiner of my attitude is where He comes. This places Him at the core of my being, my very existence. To refuse or accept Him on this level is my choice. He is not my business partner, my counselor giving advice, or my instructor on proper activities; He is a lover of my heart! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
