I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:8). In both the Old and New Testaments, God is the source of peace. The only possibility of peace is to receive it as a gift from God. Our God is a Trinity. He is three persons in One. Each member of the Trinity contributes to the sourcing of peace. In the Old Testament, Jehovah is seen as the supply of peace. The Lord (Jehovah) will give strength to His people; the Lord (Jehovah) will bless His people with peace (Psalms 29:11). “But upon David and his descendants, upon his house and his throne, there shall be peace forever from the Lord (Jehovah)” (1 Kings 2:33).
How will this peace come to us? “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace” (Ephesians 2:13-14). In this same passage, Paul uses the word reconcile. It is translated from the Greek word “apokatallosso.” It was never used prior to the New Testament and only found in Colossians and Ephesians. It describes the act of establishing a relationship of peace not before present. Paul said, “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19). Through Jesus peace has come between you and God. Rest in His love! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
