I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of Go” (Matthew 5:9). In the Greek text, there is no definite article before the word God in the statement sons of God. In comparing this with the preceding Beatitude congratulating the pure in heart, Jesus says in the Greek text, “For they shall see the God” (Matthew 5:8). Why does He not use the same wordage here? The scholars tell us that when the definite article is omitted in such cases, it refers to God in His totality, in His general make-up and infinity. This causes us to conclude that the pronouncement of “being a son” comes from the entire Trinity, not just one member. All three personalities of the Godhead declare our position. Jesus, the visible manifestation of God, makes this statement. But the statement does not just belong to Him but to the entire Godhead, to God in His unity, in His eternity, and in His infinity.
What an unbelievable statement this is! In our absolute helplessness we become invaded by the unlimited resource of the complete Trinity. All three persons of the Triune God take part in bringing the work of their nature to our world through us. Is this what Paul meant when he said, “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him” (Colossians 2:9-10)? God, the Trinity, has made us His own! We are sons of the Triune God! It is all through Jesus! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
