I am a Jesus pusher!!! The values of the Kingdom of Heaven are vastly different from the kingdoms of the world. According to the dictionary, a viewpoint is “a particular attitude or way of considering a matter.” We refer to it as posture or position. When an individual is within the relationship that produces the Kingdom of Heaven, he sees from this viewpoint. When one exists in the kingdoms of the world, he sees everything from a different position.
Let’s return to the first Beatitude (Matthew 5:3). It is the poor in spirit who are experiencing the kingdom of the heaven. They are not “in” the kingdom of heaven from the sense of location. They have become the Kingdom. In the helplessness of their state, they are filled with His unlimited resource. In this embrace and oneness, the Kingdom of Heaven is formed. God has chosen not to be the Kingdom of Heaven without us; we cannot possibly exist as the Kingdom without Him.
This means that the viewpoint, position, or posture for the “Kingdom person” is Jesus. The “mind of Christ” is now ours. We have His attitude. In each of the “between” Beatitudes, we are congratulated for a virtue. However, each particular virtue is really “Jesus.” Those who mourn are being congratulated for “being comforted.” In previous studies we discovered the Greek word “parakaleo,” translated comforted is a title for the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus! The strong arms of Jesus embrace us; He is our comfort. It is from this position we view our world. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
