Jesus Pusher 50

I am a Jesus pusher!!! Jesus was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). When tempted to self-source His own supply of bread, Jesus reverted back to the Scriptures. He said, “It is written.” This is a direct reference to the Scriptures. Then He quoted, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God,” (Matthew 4:4). Jesus has just given us the content of the Scriptures. In other words, the Scriptures contain every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. The Greek word translated that proceeds is from the root word meaning “to go.” However, it has a prefix which is translated “from.” It specifically highlights motion from an original location. But the original location is always internal. This means the words coming from the mouth of the Father are proceeding from the very internal heart of God. He is not reading a document or quoting a secondary source. He is exposing His innermost thoughts. Jesus is stating that the Scriptures are the revelation of the heart and mind of the Father.

If I come to the Scriptures to know the Spirit of Christ, I will find the heart passion of God revealed to me. I cannot count on my visions to reveal Christ to me. They can be influenced by my personal experiences. I do not trust my wisdom to find the heart of God, for God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27). I dare not trust my emotions for they vary with circumstances. I must listen to the very heart of God spoken through the Scriptures to my heart which is anxious to receive. As I seek Jesus, the Living Word, the Scriptures, the Written Word, becomes alive to my soul. I begin to know the tone, attitude, and passion of God. I am a Jesus pusher! He is Jesus revealed through the Scriptures. The Scriptures are not a rule book or a set of guidelines. The Scriptures are not a road map to get me to heaven. They are the whispering of the Father revealing Jesus. To know Jesus is to understand the Scriptures and to truly understand the Scriptures is to know Jesus. When I saturate in the Scriptures, I am saturating in Him. Oh, I want Him in my life! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
