I am a Jesus pusher!!! The imagery of salt and light describes a mystical occurrence that cannot be manufactured (Matthew 5:13-16). In order to help our understanding, let us view it three different ways. One is “accomplishment.” Since this cannot be done, therefore one does not know if it has been accomplished. This makes it difficult. We may never be aware of the “effect” of the “affect” of this merger with Jesus. There was no pride in accomplishment; we do not pat ourselves on the back at the marvelous words we spoke or activities we accomplished. It is simply an expression of who He is! This is the mystical element of the wonder of the presence of Jesus!
There are some extreme examples of this in the New Testament. Regarding Peter, Luke writes, “And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them” (Acts 5:14, 15). This same kind of mystical flow took place from Jesus. “And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment” (Matthew 9:20). Luke gives us more details in his account (Luke 8:43-48). The mystical power of God flowed from Jesus to this woman without will or choice. Someone was affected by the power of the Holy Spirit through Jesus. I am willing to simply belong (merge) to Him and allow Him to do and be in me what He desires. I am a Jesus pusher!!!

Why without will or choice? Didn’t that His power respond because of her trust?
