Jesus Pusher 554

I am a Jesus pusher!!! Paul instructed us, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself” (Philippians 2:3). This is the influence of salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16). This is a state of being. We do not earn or accomplish such a state. The results cannot be measured; therefore, results are not given consideration. Success is not determined by results; it is determined by intimacy. Any attempt to manufacture the results of salt and light leave us either broken or living in false allusion. This allusion will ultimately be exposed and crushed in its loss. We again are driven to Jesus. We must embrace that we are “poor in spirit.” Accrediting ourselves with any other attribute will destroy the state of being, salt and light. This is the consideration of “assessment.”

A third factor is “acknowledgement.” If the above is true, we cannot and must not take credit for our state of being and its results. We never receive the glory for anything. The closing verse of our study reveals this truth, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Who can resist the temptation of glory, praise, and being acknowledged? Only the person who is fully convinced he is “poor in spirit.” This is what drives us to continually mourn before Jesus allowing His presence to unite with us. The Kingdom of God is formed in that union. We become salt and light. It is merger with Jesus! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
