I am a Jesus pusher!!! Jesus said that when salt is no longer capable of seasoning “it is then good for nothing” (Matthew 5:13). The Greek word “ischuo,” translated “it is good,” gives us the subject and verb of the statement. It means, “strong, powerful, mighty, or able to do.” It is a part of the word group from “ischus.” This word is focused on the resource itself, not the action or performance of the resource. In other words, in Jesus’ statement, the emphasis is not on the person who cannot do anything, action, performance, or duty; therefore, they have no value. He highlights the “state of being” at the base of His presentation. The person who does not influence His world with the presence of Jesus is like “salt” that is not “salty.”
This person is self-sourced; therefore, he has no resource. There is not any, not even one, amount of resource within him. Even with the parade of good deeds or successful performances acclaiming his fame, he is helpless. This testifies to the shallow, impractical, and hypocritical state of the Kingdom of Satan. It is a kingdom source by demonic nature, self. He is a substance attempting to be salt when he is not! He is a person trying to be the Kingdom of God, when he is not! When a person is helpless he manipulates every situation for his benefit. He must guard and protest. It is the best he can do because he is helpless. What a tragic position when the resource of the Trinity God wants to fill our helplessness with Himself. Jesus wants to indwell us! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
