I am a Jesus pusher!!! “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).As Jesus lived in the fullness of the Spirit and was light to His world, so we are filled with the same light and are the light of the world. Would you let Him shine through you? Would you allow the radiation of His presence to bring illumination to your surroundings? Think of your home! Your family must live in the presence of the light, being constantly exposed to the presence of Jesus. Your fellow employees speak of Jesus working at their job, because you, a fellow employee bring Him to work with you. Matthew proposes a strong force in this verse. Jesus said, “A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). This statement is in the negative, expressing an inability. A city on the hill does not try to be seen; a city on a hill is simply incapable of not being seen.
Letting Jesus shine through you brings us back to “being!” You are “being” light; you are not “doing” light. There is contained within the nature of light the inability of not being seen. The moment a match flames in a dark room, we see its light. A helpless person filled with the resource of Jesus’ light becomes the Kingdom of God, influencing his world. It has nothing to do with personality types, training, or talents. It is innate within the nature of the person filled with Jesus. It is not about our resources because we are helpless. It is about the linkage between Jesus and humanity. Our responsibility, role, or response must be to seek Him. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
