I am a Jesus pusher!!! God created us to be the visibility of Himself as He indwells us. Paul described Jesus as “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation” (Colossians 1:15). It is an unbelievable truth. Jesus was the first man of the New Covenant, a helpless man filled with the essence of God’s Spirit. In this combination and linkage, He demonstrated the image of God, making God visible through Him. It was God’s design of man’s creation from the beginning. Jesus restores what we lost in the fall of Adam.
God boldly declared Jesus’ restoration in the creation of man! Before the fall, Adam and Eve lived in the fullness of the Kingdom of God. Their sin was their refusal and admission of their helplessness without the Spirit of God. They denied their dependency on God. In the fullness of the Spirit, God had given them prominence in the created world. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth” (Genesis 1:26). Notice that being created in His image is linked with dominating all creation. In other words, man is created by and filled with God; he only rules through God’s sourcing; he is the invisible God’s visible image. Contained in his ruling is the demonstration of all that God is, the demonstration of the Kingdom. Visibility is at the heart of his design. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
