I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). It is “your light!” However, there is no claim of ownership; we did not create it. The light is master over us. The light captures us; He uses us for His manifestation. However, there is a sense in which we are essential to the light. Let me caution us. We must see this discussion in light of our helplessness. The light is the light! We do nothing to contribute to it. Yet, the One who is the source of light decided to shine through us but not produce pride or ownership. It only causes us to rejoice in our helplessness.
In the previous discussion of the Mount of Transfiguration, the three disciples saw the inner light through the face and clothes of Jesus. His physical being became the instrument of the radiation of the inner Light. His personality, facial features, hair, clothing, height, and entire physical being became the inner Light expression. If you experienced the Mount of Transfiguration, the Light would be the same, but the expression would be through a different instrument. Your height, hair, clothing, and personality would demonstrate the light differently. It becomes “your” light. Do you recognize the staggering opportunity of living daily in this experience? Jesus’ light in you is contrasted with the strain and stress of self-sourcing, always insecure. What an opportunity we have to be Jesus pushers!!!
