I am a Jesus pusher!!! Regularly, Jesus talks with me about my concentration. It seems to be a constant need in my walk in Him. Is it a flaw in my nature that I get distracted? However, in merging with Him, it is not as simple as focusing on Him. It appears in my relationship with Him, and I am to concentrate on what He concentrates on! His focus is to become my focus. When the major does not possess me, I will get involved in the minor. Someone said, “I simply do not have time!” It is not true. Everyone has the same amount of time. It is not a matter of the amount of time but the focus. We go where we want to go; we have time for what we want to do; we have money for what we want to buy. It is an issue of priority, concentration, or focus.
The Beatitudes present the truth. How easy it would be to concentrate on the various aspects given. “For they shall inherit the land” (Matthew 5:5). “For they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). “For they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7). “For they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). “For they shall be called the Sons of God” (Matthew 5:9). Are not all of these factors great desires of our human life? However, they are not the focus of the Beatitudes, “The Formation of the Kingdom.” These are mere by-products of what is present when God forms His Kingdom. They are the wrapping paper of the great gift of His presence. In my helplessness (poor in spirit), I experience the resource and embrace of Jesus! We become the Kingdom of Heaven together. He becomes my total focus. I am not to focus on forgiveness, gifts of the Spirit, rules, knowledge, power, etc. I allow Him to draw me into His focus. “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5;13). We are Jesus pushers!!!
