I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). The total focus of shining the light is that others might come to understand the content of the Father’s heart. The focus is not on accomplishing “good works,” a mere adjustment and form of self-centeredness. How easy it is to become “program centered.” The focus of a church program becomes the production. The measure of its success is how many, how much, or how great! People are applauding. We find our value in how we are viewed instead of knowing the Father’s heart. We must continually come back to revealing the Father’s heart.
Let us put this in the perspective of the Beatitudes, “The Formation of the Kingdom.” Jesus congratulates me on my condition of total helplessness. It is in the state of recognition and mourning that I am open to His infilling. In the embrace of my helplessness and the resource of His person, He forms the Kingdom of Heaven. In this relationship, we experience meekness, fullness, mercy, purity of heart, peace, and victory in persecution. But the focus is not that I would experience all of these benefits for myself. These are all aspects of the Father’s heart now in me. I am to shine these aspects into the core of all my activities, attitudes, and mannerisms until it becomes apparent they are a product of His sourcing, a demonstration of the heart of Jesus. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
