I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). In all of these studies, we highlight the helplessness of each of us. The Kingdom of Heaven is not something we achieve, manage, or accomplish. It is a result of recognizing our absolute need and the surrender to the resource of Jesus. The Kingdom is not what Jesus is or what I am. It is about “us!” “We” are the Kingdom in the intimacy of the relationship, Jesus and me. It is an unbelievable reality! We do not produce the light; we become an avenue for the shining of the light. We are not in control of the light.
Shining the light demands a consistency beyond what self-sourcing can produce. Self can be meek before certain people and at certain times. Self can experience a fullness of life for some moments in some circumstances. Self can extend mercy to certain people to some degree. Purity of the heart may be exhibited in some areas by self-control only to find the cancer of sin decaying the foundation of life. Peace may be a result of a controlling person filled with self. Many people have suffered at the hands of others with great endurance. But who can consistently flow with the heart of the Father? Who can day after day in all circumstances, in every attitude, and all moments spring forth with the loving heart of Christ? It could only be the helpless one filled with Jesus. Here is where the heart of the Father is clarified and becomes known. We must shine the heart of the Father and be a Jesus pusher!!!
