I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). “Your” is the Greek word “humon.” In the Greek language, it does not necessarily mean ownership. It expresses the idea of “concerning.” “Your” appears three times in our verse. “Let your light” is not a statement indicating you own the light. However, it is the light concerning your life or what you have become. “Your good works” does not mean you produce them. They are the works relating to your life coming from the Resource invading your helplessness. “Your Father” is not ownership, but the relationship.
Jesus explained this in discourse to His disciples. He said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). The reason this is true is simple. “The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works” (John 14:10). If the Father does the works through Jesus, then they are the Father’s works! Jesus continued, “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves” (John 14:11). There are two strong bases for our belief in Jesus being a demonstration of the Father. One is that He is in the Father, and the Father is in Him. The second is that the Father demonstrates Himself through Jesus with the “works.” Jesus gives a picture of the believer. The relationship Jesus has with the Father we now have! The expression of this relationship through Jesus is now ours! Jesus fills us with Himself as the Father filled Him. We are Jesus pushers!!!
