I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Jesus said to His disciples, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14:12). Jesus links the “works” with Himself and promises they will be ours also. The Greek word translated “do” is “poieo.” It highlights the flow of the Father’s nature within the individual. Jesus said that the “works” are His; at the same time, they are the Father’s “works.” Jesus is the avenue through which the Father demonstrates Himself! It will be true for us in the New Covenant.
Do you recognize the link between Jesus and the Father? They are so connected that the actions of One are the actions of the Other! We cannot consider them two, and yet they are! Jesus brings us into this relationship. In speaking about Pentecost, the New Covenant, He said, “At that time you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you” (John 14:20). It is an intimacy beyond knowing about or even knowing personally. It is a meshing of our being with His! It is welding as two pieces of metal mix their molecules. The Trinity has opened itself to draw us into their hearts. We become one with God. We are not God; we are weak (poor in spirit). Yet, Jesus comes in the intermixing of our being with His; we become a new creature together; it is the Kingdom! We are the light of the world. All we knew was darkness; now, we sit on a lampstand, giving light and visibility to our world. We participate in the “works” of God. We are Jesus pushers!!!
