I am a Jesus pusher!!! The devil tempts Jesus by showing Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory (Matthew 4:8). The devil must have been grinning as he supposes the Kingdom of darkness would be alluring to Jesus. Self-sourcing, greed, hatred, bitterness, adultery, broken homes, and selfish power filled the lives of the entire Kingdom of darkness. Jesus could have it all. Do you picture Jesus as holding His breath, gritting His teeth as He is allured with great desire to be King over that Kingdom? I think not! This was not alluring to Him at all. He had the perspective, opinion of the Kingdom of God. He was Spirit-sourced.
Perhaps the “revealer” of the soul is found in what tempts or allures us. Could every temptation be brought under the authority of the perspective of the Spirit? Why are the kingdoms of the world and their glory alluring to me? As I find hate in my life, why do I justify it? What is present in my perspective which causes me to want to hate? Why does my opinion feel comfortable with using someone else for my own selfish ends? Perhaps victory over temptation is not found in resisting, but in a change of opinion! I must be sourced by Christ! His heart and passion must dominate my being. His eyes must become mine! Jesus is my Hero, my King! His thinking is true; His desires are clean; His actions redeem and restore. I must have the mind of Christ. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
