I am a Jesus pusher!!! Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). The complete visibility of the light is to “glorify your Father in heaven.” The Greek word “doxaz,” translated as “glorify,” comes from the root word “doxa,” meaning “to influence one’s opinion about another, to enhance the latter’s reputation,” focusing on praise, honor, or extolling. We do not do “good works” to help those in need; we do them to manifest the love of the Father. The driving force behind every “good work” must be to make the Father visible.
Attitude saturates the activities flowing from the Kingdom person. An attitude is “a settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, reflected in a person’s behavior.” The way you feel or think about Jesus demonstrates itself in every activity of your life. For instance, I do not curse the name of Jesus; this is determined by how I feel about Jesus. There are places I do not go and activities in which I do not participate, choices determined by my relationship with Jesus. The satisfaction of my physical drives and appetites decides by my attitude about Jesus. My behavior reflects how I think and feel about Him. The determining fact is not about rules with the threat of punishment; it is a relationship! Due to my intimate relationship with Jesus, I want my entire life with all of its involvements and activities to “glorify” Him. That sounds like a Jesus pusher!!!
