I am a Jesus pusher!!! “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). If the light of Jesus shines in your life, you will want Him. If you see Him as He is, you will embrace Him. Love will grip your life, and you will not be able to resist Him. Jesus calls us to be a part of this process in your life. We participate in the prevenient grace of God, bringing revelation (shining) to your life. What a privilege! Revealing Jesus becomes the passion for our lives because it is the passion of God’s heart! The above statements sound beautiful and spiritual. I feel much better after hearing them and thinking about them. But the reality is that I cannot conform to that kind of living all the time. I get distracted! Pressures come to my life that are beyond my control. I spend my energy on simple survival. I am exhausted at the close of my day. I spend my day fighting off the destruction of my life. Jesus and loving Him is a nice thing for those who have nothing to do but play shuffleboard in retirement.
Speak to your neighbor about the Christian faith. But when you invite them to come to church, they respond, “It is my only time to sleep in, and I am exhausted from working extra hours at my job.” Invite them to donate to the work of the church; they respond, “I am scrapping to pay my bill and simply do not have anything left over.” They view Christianity as an addition to an already busy life. Jesus is not an addition to my life’s many activities; He is the source for those activities. He enhances my life! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
