I am a Jesus pusher!!! I love Jesus with my whole, entire heart. There is no “if” in Jesus. This is contrasted with the devil who is all about “if.” In the great temptation event, the devil takes Jesus to an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory (Matthew 4:8). His proposition is simply, “All these things I will give You IF You will fall down and worship me,” (Matthew 4:9). It is a conditional clause. If Jesus performs the necessary act of worship, then the devil will respond with the supposed gifts. The devil is not going to move, provide, or grant anything until Jesus responds; it is his leverage.
This is why I am a Jesus pusher!!! Jesus is the exact opposite. He is not waiting on us, but has graciously given us all things. He is not waiting to extend His full love; He has already surrounded us with complete grace. He has not withheld from us redemption; He has already died for us. He is not withholding any good thing from our lives; but has provided all things. His forgiveness is not dependent upon our repentance; He has already forgiven us. He wants to give us power over all sin; He has already given it to us. He loves me without “if!”
There is nothing that can keep me from experiencing all that He is. If this is not a reality in my life, it is not His fault. Don’t I have to respond? Don’t I have to accept what He has provided? YES! So there is an “if” in receiving all He is. But the “if” is not on His part, it is on my part. It is not in Him; it is in me. He has no “if.” Such unconditional love consumes me. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
