I am a Jesus pusher!!! I am not going to be a Jesus pusher. I am not preparing to be a Jesus pusher. I AM a Jesus pusher. It is present tense! Everything with Jesus is present tense. This is strongly contrasted with the devil. It is seen in the great temptation event. After displaying before Jesus the kingdoms of the world, the devil said, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me,” (Matthew 4:9). His statement is in the future tense. The devil is always alluring us with what might be. The promise of future fulfillment is always before us. How often I have fallen into this trap. His approach is like a great carrot dangling in front of me. It never seems to be mine in the present.
Jesus is not this way. His entire provision (Himself) is mine now! It is present tense! In the embrace of Christ I have everything He wants me to have. All is found in Him. We understand there is growth into maturity; there is heaven to come. However, He does not withhold from me, so I need to progress and grow in receiving more from Him. Progression is needed in my ability to grasp all He is in me. I am not waiting for Him to fulfill His promise and give me more; I need to enlarge my capacity for all He is in me. It is not an expanding of what He can give me. The expansion needed is in my comprehension of His provision for me. I am a little boy who has fallen into a swimming pool of chocolate. My prayer is not for more chocolate; my prayer is for an increase in my capacity. I must not live beneath my privileges, ignoring all He is in me. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
