I am a Jesus Pusher! The Sermon on the Mount is a manifesto of the Kingdom of Heaven. This Kingdom is not a location; you do not take a long journey to arrive at this place. The Kingdom of Heaven is a relationship with Jesus. As Jesus described it, the Kingdom is the helplessness of a person sourced by the Spirit of God! In the intertwining of God and man, God creates a new unit. This unit explodes with meekness, righteousness, mercy, purity, peace, and victory amid persecution (Matthew 5:3-10). A man filled with God influences the world; he becomes “salt” and “light.” The Sermon on the Mount describes this intimate relationship, the Kingdom of Heaven.
However, when we carefully consider the Sermon on the Mount, it describes Jesus. If there is any question about the statements of the sermon, you view the life of Jesus for clarification. For example, the proposal of seeking the Kingdom of Heaven first is defined clearly in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 6:33 and 26:39). Jesus forcibly demonstrates the content of “love your enemies” in the crucifixion (Matthew 5:44; Luke 23:34). Each fundamental principle or concept manifests itself throughout the ministry of Jesus. He is the Sermon on the Mount. If the secret to His life was the fullness of the Spirit, could the same Spirit source me? Indeed, He is that Spirit. I am a Jesus Pusher!
