I am a Jesus Pusher! The theme of Jesus’ coming connects to the reality of Jesus being sent! “Pempo” means “to dispatch, to send,” and it is a parallel word to the Greek word “apostello,” translated apostle. Jesus consistently made statements such as, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent (apostello) Me, I also send (pempo) you” (John 20:21). Matthew uses prophecies in the first four chapters of his writing in nearly every paragraph. The prophecy is a message of the plan to send Jesus. God established the Scriptures; they carve out the boundaries of the movement of God for us. Jesus verifies this plan. Paul illuminated this truth. “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law” (Galatians 4:4). Was this not the content of the first prophecy found in the Scriptures? He promised, “the Seed” (Genesis 3:15). Paul expounded this. “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, ‘And to seeds,’ as of many, but as of one, ‘And to your Seed, who is Christ” (Galatians 3:16).
God’s plan is always positive! He has never planned against us. He is constantly for us! As the positive plan of God unfolds through the Scriptures, He sends Jesus. His presence comes; His presence is positive! In our helplessness, the Spirit of Jesus comes. He fills us and brings the formation of the Kingdom of God. Jesus pronounces the accomplishment of the New Covenant. He comes! He is the positive explosion of the heart of the Trinity into our world, fulfilling the plan of God! We must embrace Him! I am a Jesus pusher!
