I am a Jesus Pusher! We discover a wonder contained in the word fulfill. First, Jesus fulfilled the Scriptures in “revelation.” We already discussed how perverted the Scriptures became with the beliefs of the Pharisees, Sadducees, and scribes. God reduced His intent to redeem a world to the nation of Israel. Their nationalistic view of Judaism isolated them. Isolation became prejudice. Their application of the Old Testament law became dominated by defilement laws and cleansing procedures. This application naturally gravitated into a militaristic view of the coming Messiah. They viewed the Kingdom of God as the Kingdom of Israel standing supreme against the Gentile world. The laws of the Scriptures applying directly to them were adjusted and reduced to fit their needs. External acts became the focus.; personal necessity became the motive; self-justification sets the standard. Jesus boldly discharged a new view of the Scriptures. He restored it to its proper meaning; He revealed its intent as seen from the heart of God.
If you have only the Scriptures, you will quickly adjust its truth to satisfy your self-sourcing. You must consistently see the Scriptures in light of Jesus. The Scriptures become clear when seen through the person of Jesus. To discover the Scriptures, give clarity to the person of Jesus while He gives clarity to the Scriptures is a marvel. No wonder the Scriptures call Him “the Word” (John 1:1). God fills me, and I allow Him to speak His word into my life. I am a Jesus Pusher!
