I am a Jesus Pusher! “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18). Jesus is of great “consequence” in the Scriptures because He is the “completion” of the Scriptures. Note the final statement of the “Final Scriptures,” “till (heos) (an) all (panta) is fulfilled (ginomai) (Matthew 5:18). “Ginomai,” translated “is fulfilled,” and meaning, “to become,” is a different Greek word translated “fulfilled” in the previous verse (Matthew 5:17). All the pieces of the Scriptures from “one jot or one tittle” are coming together. The Scriptures are pieces of a puzzle uniquely fitting together; they form one picture, Jesus. They do not form Jesus to cause Jesus! The Scriptures flow from the heart of God in a progressive revelation, bringing us to a completed picture; it is Jesus. God described Jesus for us in the Scriptures. Jesus is now completing the Scriptures. The Scriptures are not a road map to heaven, an instructional manual for life, or a book of rules for living; they are about Jesus.
The “construction” of the Scriptures is Jesus. The Scriptures describe everything God desires for you. The peace, joy, power, strength, wisdom, and life described are in Jesus. Therefore, the focus of your life should be Jesus. If everything God desires for you is in the content of the Scriptures, and the content of the Scriptures, and it is in Jesus, you must embrace Him, and then you will embrace the Scriptures. The Scriptures will be “in” Jesus for all eternity. Therefore, we are not simply referring to the Written Word but also the living Word. They are interacting! Will there be a written form of the Scriptures in heaven that we will study and investigate together? I do not know. But it is not a point of concern. Jesus is the Word. I am a Jesus Pusher!
