I am a Jesus pusher!!! “You have heard it said to those of old . . . But I say to you” (Matthew 5:21, 22). Truth has an essential, core, and fundamental understanding. Guilt is proof of this statement displayed in your life. Each time you go against “present knowledge,” you experience guilt. God planned distinct avenues for the communication of truth. One of those avenues is “Artistic Speaking.” All true artistic works are a product of the individual; they constitute how the artist feels, thinks, and cares. All creation, flowing from His inner being, carries the touch of His Person. Are you not made in His image (Genesis 1:26)? Another avenue is “Audio Speaking.” God is not silent. The author of Hebrews writes, “has in these last days spoken to us by His Son” (Hebrews 1:2). God spoke in the Old Testament through a cloud by day, a pillar of fire by night, a burning bush, and a snake on a pole. God also gave us writings on tablets of stone. The list is endless! In our previous study (Matthew 5:17-20), Jesus declared God’s proclamation through the Scriptures. He has not left us without instruction. God also uses “Atmospheric Speaking.” God consistently bombards the atmosphere of our living with His presence and speaking. Jesus did not say, “You have read.” Many in the crowd Jesus spoke to could not read. Even if they could read, the Old Testament scrolls were unavailable. He referred to what their teachers had taught them. God permeated the atmosphere of their culture. Jesus uses all of these methods to speak the heart of God to us! Will we listen to Him?
