I am a Jesus pusher!!! “You have heard it said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment’” (Matthew 5:21). An immature understanding does not consider others, especially Jesus! It sees only personal circumstances and consequences. The scribes and Pharisees focused on themselves. The six hundred and thirteen oral traditions brought self-satisfaction, comfort, and spiritual superiority. They developed an organized system creating personal gain. They did not grasp the plan of God and what they were doing to Jesus!
It is easy to justify our actions and never see what is being done to Jesus. The deterrent to anger, demeaning, and belittling is not the local physical court. You can always find fellow humans who will join your justification, and they will readily tell you how you had a perfect right to be angry. Jesus calls us to a New Covenant, a higher standard. Jesus is the single element that moves us from the four-year-old status to being in the Kingdom of God. He took the total penalty for my sins.
Paul said that “the love of Christ compels us” (2 Corinthians 5:14). If so, then we must remove anger, demeaning, and belittling from our lives. We cannot participate in any activity or attitude outside the nature of God The Kingdom of God, my helplessness filled with His presence, is not about a rule against murder. The Kingdom is about the nature of God flowing through my life. Anything outside this nature violates the heart of God. To participate in the attitudes outside His nature, I must abuse the provision of His death and resurrection. I proclaim His death is not adequate for my victory. I must fall in love with Jesus. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
