I am a Jesus pusher!!! “You have heard it said to those of old, . . . But I say to you” (Matthew 5:21-22). Jesus was the arrival of the New Covenant! He was the first man to experience all the prophets foretold concerning this covenant. Jesus did not come merely to establish the Kingdom; He is the Kingdom! The Kingdom of Heaven is the uniting of God and man merged in a new creature relationship. Jesus was helpless and filled with the resource of the Spirit. When He said, “But I say to you,” He declared what He knew and heard from the Father. Jesus did not base His authority on the fact that He is God (although He is); He based His authority on the fact that He is a man sourced by God. We must listen to Him as the voice of God!
This sourcing is the call of the Scriptures for every Kingdom person. We are helpless individuals filled with the resource of God. Our lives reveal Jesus; we speak His word; we do not live out of ourselves. Anything less than this behavior is not acceptable. This behavior is not something Kingdom people do, strive to achieve, or try to model. It is the essence of who we are. We cease to exist without this! His heart and my heart, His mind and my mind, His emotions and my emotions merge into a new creature. It is the uniting of my helplessness and His Divine nature! Old things have passed away, and all things have become new. The radical reality of the Sermon on the Mount becomes the norm for the Kingdom person! That is who we are, not who we strive to become! It is all in Jesus! I am a Jesus pusher!!!
